Commercial Lending and Practical Support for Company Directors

Hello. We are Massud Zhouand and Jessie Emily Zhouand, a husband-and-wife team based in St Leonards, Sydney. We now offer commercial lending assistance for company directors and Australian businesses seeking finance for growth, equipment, working capital, property, stock, supplier payments, imported goods or a stronger operating position. We take time to understand the business, the purpose of the funding and the information a commercial lender will need. Our established strategic advisory, regulatory coordination, charity and complex-matter services remain available where broader support is required.

Professional Boundaries: Commercial finance is available for genuine business purposes only. Connect Australia Pty Ltd is not a lender, law practice, tax agent, financial adviser, registered liquidator or migration agency. An independent credit provider assesses every finance application, determines eligibility and makes all approval, pricing and lending decisions. We do not provide legal, tax, financial product, insolvency or migration advice. With prior disclosure, we may introduce an independent provider for you to assess and choose, and we may receive a referral fee or commission. No finance or other outcome is guaranteed.

Commercial Lending

What Commercial Finance Can We Help Your Business Obtain?

Commercial lending should begin with the purpose, not a generic loan product. We help company directors explain what the business needs, organise the supporting information and present a clear commercial finance enquiry to an independent lender. The aim may be growth, better cash flow, new equipment, imported stock, premises, urgent repairs or greater operating flexibility.

01

Business Loans & Working Capital

Commercial business loans may support expansion, seasonal costs, wages, repairs, marketing, stock purchases, supplier payments or a short-term cash-flow requirement. Secured and unsecured options may be available, subject to the lender’s assessment.

02

Asset, Vehicle & Equipment Finance

Funding may assist a business to purchase or replace vehicles, plant, machinery, tools, medical or professional equipment, technology and other income-producing business assets.

03

Business Line of Credit

A commercial line of credit can provide flexible access to an approved limit for recurring business expenses or changing cash-flow needs. Interest is generally charged on the amount drawn, subject to the provider’s terms.

04

Invoice Finance

Invoice finance may release part of the value held in unpaid business invoices. It can help bridge the period between delivering goods or services and receiving payment from customers.

05

Trade, Import & Export Finance

Trade finance may assist with supplier payments, imported goods, purchase orders, stock in transit and the timing gap between paying a supplier and receiving customer revenue.

06

Commercial Property & Fit-Out Finance

Commercial finance may support the purchase, refinance or improvement of business premises, offices, warehouses, shops and other commercial property, including approved fit-out and project costs.

Step 1: Understand the Purpose

We discuss the amount, timing, intended use, business history, existing commitments, preferred structure and available security.

Step 2: Prepare the Information

We help organise the business records, identification, financial information, quotations, contracts and explanation the lender may require.

Step 3: Present the Enquiry

We introduce the enquiry to an independent commercial finance provider and remain available to coordinate information requests through the assessment process.

Commercial finance only: We do not offer personal, domestic, household or consumer lending. Products, interest rates, fees, security requirements, documentation and approval timeframes vary between providers and applicants. The independent lender makes the credit decision. Any referral fee or commission payable to us will be disclosed.

Additional Advisory Capabilities

How Else Do Massud and Jessie Help Company Directors and Organisations?

Commercial lending is now a major part of our work. Our wider advisory services remain available when a director, regulated professional, charity or small organisation needs careful administrative support. Massud works through the financial, operational, technical and human parts. Jessie Emily Zhouand turns those findings into clear chronologies, organised evidence and careful written material.

01

Director Crisis Support

A director crisis rarely sits in one file. It may involve ATO or ASIC correspondence, creditors, staff, cash flow, family pressure, missing records and several professional advisers. We help secure the documents, map the deadlines, build the chronology and coordinate the next steps.

02

Regulatory Response Coordination

Show cause notices, regulatory investigations, information requests and professional complaints often begin with incomplete assumptions. We identify the questions, organise the correspondence, compare the record, gather supporting material and prepare an orderly briefing for the response.

Jessie and Massud bring practical charity experience to ACNC registration work. We help prepare governing documents, activity descriptions, supporting evidence and the records needed to explain the charity’s purpose, people and planned work.

Complex Matter Structuring Services

We turn scattered emails, invoices, letters, call notes and system records into a usable chronology, evidence index and briefing pack. The aim is not to make the story larger. The aim is to make it accurate, complete and easy to follow.

Government Engagement and Advocacy Services

We help clients write to government departments, regulators, ministers, councils and decision-makers. We set out the issue, evidence, human impact and outcome sought. We keep the communication respectful, direct and properly authorised.

Small Business Restructuring Support

Before a registered restructuring practitioner can properly assess a proposed small business restructuring, the director’s records need to be current and usable. We help organise creditor schedules, financial records, lodgements, timelines and briefing material during the formal proposal period. We do not give insolvency advice.

How We Work

How Do We Work Through a Complex Matter?

We do not start by drafting. We first work out what happened. Massud and Jessie read the records, test the dates, identify gaps, separate fact from assumption, then build a practical plan.

Step 1: Secure & Preserve

We collect the primary records before memories shift or files disappear: notices, emails, lodgements, invoices, call notes, policies, system records, instructions and prior submissions.

Step 2: Build the Chronology

Jessie Emily Zhouand and Massud Zhouand test the dates against the source documents. We record what is known, what is disputed, what is missing and why each point matters.

Step 3: Prepare the Briefing

We create an indexed pack, a clear chronology and the written material needed for the next stage. We coordinate with the client’s lawyer, accountant, tax adviser, restructuring practitioner or other qualified professional where required.

Why Does Early Administrative Work Matter?

One missed date, unsupported statement, missing attachment or unexplained gap can change how a regulator or adviser reads the entire matter. ASIC recorded 3,388 small business restructuring appointments between 1 July 2022 and 31 December 2024. Of the proposed plans sent to affected creditors, 87% were approved. The ATO states that a Director Penalty Notice gives a director 21 days from the day the notice is posted or left at the registered address to take an available remission option. These are formal processes. Good records, early action and qualified advice matter.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common Questions About Connect Australia’s Work

What types of commercial finance can Connect Australia help with?

We assist with genuine business-purpose enquiries for business loans, working capital, lines of credit, vehicles, plant and equipment, invoice finance, trade finance, imported or exported goods, commercial property and business fit-outs. Available products and terms depend on the independent lender’s assessment.

Does Connect Australia provide personal or consumer loans?

No. Our commercial lending assistance is limited to genuine business purposes. Connect Australia is not the lender. An independent credit provider assesses the application and makes every approval, pricing and lending decision.

What does Connect Australia do first when a regulator’s notice arrives?

We identify the deadline, the questions or allegations, the decision-maker, the source records and any professional adviser already involved. We do not begin with polished language. We first establish what happened, what can be proved and what remains missing.

Can a company use small business restructuring to deal with tax debt?

Tax debt may form part of a small business restructuring plan where the company is eligible. Tax lodgements, employee entitlements, creditor information and the proposed plan require careful professional assessment. Advice on eligibility and the plan must come from a registered restructuring practitioner and the appropriate tax adviser. Connect Australia helps organise the records and briefing material.

What is the timeframe for a Director Penalty Notice?

The ATO states that the 21 days starts on the day it posts the Director Penalty Notice or leaves it at the address registered with ASIC. Available remission options depend on the liability and when it was reported. Immediate legal, tax or insolvency advice may be required.

What does Jessie Emily Zhouand do at Connect Australia?

Jessie Emily Zhouand works on careful records, chronologies, submissions, charity administration, regulatory coordination and community advocacy. She works with Massud Zhouand on complex matters that involve more than one professional or practical issue. Clients deal with Jessie directly.

Does Jessie Emily Zhouand provide migration assistance or OMARA services?

No. Jessie Emily Zhouand does not provide migration assistance through Connect Australia. Connect Australia is not a migration agency. Our work may include non-legal administrative support for registered migration agents or other regulated professionals responding to regulatory correspondence. Migration assistance must come from a registered migration agent or an Australian legal practitioner authorised to provide it.
