Strategic Advisory and Complex Matter Support

Connect Australia provides strategic advisory and coordination services for company directors, licensed and regulated professionals, charities and small organisations across Australia. We help when the matter has become urgent, complicated, document-heavy or difficult to place within one professional box.

Jessie and I work as a husband-and-wife team. Clients deal with us directly. Massud works through the financial, operational, technical and people-related parts of the matter. Jessie turns the findings into ordered chronologies, evidence schedules, applications and clear written material.

Our role is practical. We map the situation, secure the records, find the missing facts, prepare the chronology, coordinate stakeholders and keep the agreed work moving. The aim is not to make the story bigger. The aim is to make the real story clear.

Some matters involve a notice or application. Others involve years of scattered emails, invoices, decisions, complaints, staff issues, family pressure and professional advice that has never been brought into one factual account. These are often the matters that keep people awake at night.

What we provide: non-legal case management support, business situation mapping, records organisation, chronology and evidence preparation, submission writing, stakeholder communication, professional coordination and strategic administrative heavy lifting.

What we do not provide: legal, tax, financial, accounting, insolvency or restructuring advice. We do not act as a law practice, tax agent, financial adviser, registered liquidator or restructuring practitioner.

Core Services

What Can We Help With?

The subject changes. The method remains disciplined: identify the real issue, organise what can be proved, clarify what needs professional advice, prepare usable material, keep the person behind the file in view.

ACNC Charity Registration Support

We help boards organise charitable purposes, activities, governing documents, policies, budgets and supporting evidence before an ACNC application is lodged. The organisation remains responsible for the application. The ACNC remains the decision-maker.

DGR Endorsement Support

We prepare category questions, evidence workplans, governing-document comparisons and draft application material for review by your lawyer or registered tax adviser. Eligibility advice remains with an appropriately qualified professional. The ATO determines endorsement.

Grant and Submission Writing

We read the criteria, identify the evidence, find the gaps and prepare clear written material in your voice. This may include grants, tenders, consultations, applications, factual submissions and responses to information requests.

Government Engagement and Advocacy

We clarify the request, identify the right decision-maker, prepare briefing material, plan meetings, manage correspondence and record commitments. The work remains factual, measured and directed to a practical outcome.

Regulatory Response Coordination

We help organise notices, deadlines, records, correspondence and the factual history behind a regulatory matter. We build chronologies, evidence schedules and adviser briefs. We do not provide legal representation or legal advice.

Director Crisis Support

When several problems arrive at once, we separate urgent work from background noise. We coordinate records, advisers, communications, deadlines and practical tasks so the director can see what needs attention first.

Pre-Insolvency Administrative Support

Massud leads the practical preparation around serious cashflow pressure, restructuring discussions, administration or liquidation. We organise records and adviser briefings. We do not determine solvency or provide safe-harbour, restructuring or insolvency advice.

Small Business Restructuring Support

We organise books, records, creditor information, practitioner requests, chronologies and supporting material around a Small Business Restructuring process. A registered restructuring practitioner and the company directors control the formal process.

How We Work

How Does an Engagement Work?

Step 1

Brief Fit Check

Tell us what happened, what arrived, the deadline and the immediate concern. No sensitive documents are needed at this stage. If we are not the right people, we will say so before you spend money.

Step 2

Scope in Writing

We define the objective, workstreams, authority, boundaries, deliverables, fees and the qualified advisers who may be required. You know what we are doing before substantive work begins.

Step 3

Build the Factual Record

We organise records, identify gaps, test dates, build the chronology, prepare schedules and coordinate contributors. Important questions are separated from background noise.

Step 4

Coordinate and Deliver

We prepare the agreed material, support meetings, manage correspondence, track commitments and brief your chosen professionals. Decisions remain with you and the relevant decision-maker.

Where Our Work Stops

Connect Australia Pty Ltd is not a law practice, tax agent, financial adviser, registered liquidator or restructuring practitioner. We do not provide legal, tax, financial, accounting, insolvency or restructuring advice. We do not determine solvency. We do not promise an outcome.

We work alongside your preferred qualified provider. With prior disclosure, we may introduce an independent provider for you to assess and choose. Connect Australia does not accept commissions, referral fees, gifts or benefits for those introductions.

Common Questions

Questions About Our Services

What services does Connect Australia provide?

Connect Australia provides strategic advisory and coordination services, non-legal case management support, business situation mapping, records organisation, chronology and evidence preparation, submission writing, stakeholder communication and practical oversight of high-stakes workstreams. Our clients include company directors, licensed and regulated professionals, charities and small organisations across Australia.

How is Connect Australia different from a lawyer, accountant or tax adviser?

Our role is different. We do the administrative heavy lifting around the professional advice: finding records, organising facts, building the chronology, preparing questions, coordinating contributors and keeping the work moving. We do not provide legal, tax, financial or insolvency advice. We work with your chosen qualified professionals when their advice is required.

Can you assist when a Director Penalty Notice or urgent regulatory notice arrives?

We can help secure records, identify dates, build a chronology, prepare an adviser brief and coordinate urgent administrative work. We do not advise on the legal or tax consequences of a Director Penalty Notice. Directors should obtain qualified advice immediately. Current requirements should be checked against ATO guidance and the notice itself.

Can you assist with ACNC charity registration and DGR endorsement?

Yes. We can help organise purposes, activities, governing documents, policies, budgets, evidence and draft application material. The ACNC provides the official registration process and checklist. DGR eligibility is a tax question. A lawyer or registered tax adviser should provide eligibility advice where required. The ACNC and ATO remain the decision-makers.

What support do you provide during Small Business Restructuring?

Our role is administrative. We organise books and records, creditor information, practitioner requests, timelines and supporting material. ASIC states that the restructuring proposal period generally lasts 20 business days from the day restructuring begins, unless it ends earlier or is extended. The directors prepare the plan with the assistance of the registered restructuring practitioner. Read the current ASIC guidance. We do not assess eligibility or provide insolvency advice.

Who will I deal with at Connect Australia?

You deal with Massud Zhouand and Jessie Emily Zhouand directly. Massud works through financial, operational, technical and people-related parts of the matter. Jessie works through chronologies, evidence control, written material, applications and detailed administration. We work together. We remain accountable for the agreed scope.

Do you guarantee an application, regulatory or commercial outcome?

No. We can control the quality of our preparation, the accuracy of the factual record and the care taken with the work. We cannot control the decision-maker. Applications, approvals, endorsements, negotiations and regulatory outcomes remain subject to the relevant authority, creditor, regulator or other decision-maker.

How do fees and the first fit check work?

A brief fit check costs nothing. It is not a formal consultation. Tell us what has happened, what arrived, the deadline and the immediate concern. Do not send sensitive documents until we agree on a suitable channel. Fees, scope and deliverables are set out in writing before substantive work begins. See our engagements and fees and Terms of Engagement.
